5 people from Gurdaspur killed in road accident in Samba district of J&K

JAMMU: Five people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Ghagwal in Samba district in the wee hours of Friday.

Jammu, May 25

Five people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Ghagwal in Samba district in the wee hours of Friday.

They all were residents of Gurdaspur in Punjab.

Around 2 am, an Innova—DL 4CAE 6465, on its way from Jammu towards Punjab, hit a parapet at Tapyal under jurisdiction of Ghagwal police station in Samba district.

The deceased have been identified as Labpreet Singh, 30; Punnu, 30; Veena; Geeta Devi, 60; and a year-old boy.

Those injured are Rahul, Atras, Raju, Neetu and her two children, Roop Singh and Monu.

The injured have been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital here.
