Six persons have been booked by the police for the murder of a farmer, Makhan Singh, resident of Magha Rai Hithar village in the Gurhsahai subdivision.
On Wednesday, Makhan had confronted the accused persons as they were releasing polluted water in his field situated on the outskirts of the village. Later, they attacked Makhan and critically injured him. Makhan was taken to the Guruharsahai Civil Hospital, from where he was referred to Government Medical College in Faridkot, where he died today.
The SHO, Ashok Kumar, said the police had booked six persons — Gurmej Singh, Kulwant Singh, Sukha Singh, Sona Singh, Surjit Singh and Manjit Singh — on the basis of a compliant lodged by Makhan Singh’s son Bishamber Singh.
