9 students injured as auto-rickshaw overturns in Phagwara

Phagwara, August 19

Eleven people, including nine students of the local Ramgarhia School, were injured when an auto-rickshaw overturned near Gol Chowk here on Saturday morning.

The injured--teacher Ria, students Kamaljit (6), Pooja (5), Rajbir Kaur (5), Karan (10), Priya (8), Anshika (5), Aradhya (6), Rimzim (7) and Shivani (5) and the driver were admitted to the local Civil Hospital.

Senior Medical Officer Dr Davinder Singh said all the injured were out of danger.

The accident occurred as the auto-rickshaw driver who was bringing the students to school, lost control over the vehicle while saving a scootor coming from the opposite side.
