All Aam Aadmi Party and SAD MLAs of the district have decided to jointly oppose the demand of Congress MP Partap Singh Bajwa to shift the proposed government medical college in Mohali to Gurdaspur or Pathanakot rather than Sangrur.

“We must jointly raise this issue with the Chief Minister as it is related to the future of Sangrur and surrounding districts,” said Parminder Dhindsa, former Finance Minister and Lehragaga SAD MLA, at a function today.

“Politicians should not play politics over the college. Sangrur district is the best location for it. Our leaders, including MPs, would raise the issue with the CM,” said Aman Arora, AAP co-convener and Sunam MLA.

Congress MLA Vijay Inder Singla said both Sangrur and Gurdaspur should get medical colleges.
