Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday charged the Aam Aadmi Party with being funded by foreign-based terrorist organisations.

Speaking on the sidelines of a rally in support of the SAD candidate from Gurdaspur, GS Babbehali, Sukhbir said, “Everybody knows who is funding the AAP. It is clear that all the money being collected by Kejriwal’s party is flowing from abroad. It is the money of terrorist organisations having roots in foreign lands.”

He, however, did not offer any proof to substantiate his claims.

With today’s allegations, the SAD president has launched a full-throttle attack on Kejriwal and his party.

Yesterday, at Kahnuwan, near Gurdaspur, he had said that Kejriwwal was in touch with Sikh radical organisations and that he had assured them “that the control of gurdwaras across the state would be handed over to them if AAP comes to power.”

Commenting on the joint road show to be taken out by Navjot Singh Sidhu and Capt Amarinder Singh in Amritsar tomorrow, Sukhbir said, “Sidhu is a character who neither takes himself seriously nor does he take anybody else seriously. This time he is treating the elections, which are otherwise a serious business, as if they are a part of his laughter challenge show.

“The electorate should be wary of such people. He left the BJP saying he was asked by the party’s senior leadership to stay away from Punjab. But I ask him what has he done for Punjab in the last 7 months ever since he left the BJP?

“Amarinder and Sidhu are making a mockery of democratic norms. Both have remained MPs from Amritsar but have brought no developmental initiatives. On the other hand in the last two years we have changed the face of the city by ushering in several new projects,” he said.

Sukhbir exhorted the gathering to vote for the SAD keeping in view the unprecedented development the state has seen in the last ten years, ever since the SAD-BJP came to power.
