AAP is band of fugitives: Badal

Tohra (Patiala), April 1

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today took a dig at his political rivals during a ceremony organised to pay tributes to late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra on his 12th death anniversary here today.

Calling the Aam Aadmi Party a band of “fugitives and anti-Punjab elements”, Badal urged the people not to fall prey to their “misleading propaganda”.

He said the AAP had no definite agenda for the state’s development and their sole aim was to grab power to further their political interests in the country. He said the inexperienced and novice leadership of AAP was incapable of leading a state like Punjab, given the fact the problem faced by the bordering state was completely different from Delhi.

He also trained guns at the Congress saying it had always betrayed the people of the state on every issue. He accused the Congress of having created the SYL issue.

Earlier, paying tributes to the Panth Rattan late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra on his 12th death anniversary, Badal said only the SAD-BJP alliance, which had survived the tests of times, could provide the state a stable government.

Recalling his association with late Jathedar Tohra, Badal said the sacrifices made by him for the Panth and the state could never be forgotten.

The Chief Minister also released a souvenir on the life and works of late Jathedar Tohra.

Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Cabinet ministers Jathedar Tota Singh and S Surjit Singh Rakhra, besides several leaders and party workers of the SAD and SGPC members.
