Addressing a major grouse of the state AAP unit, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said here today that the party’s Delhi-based leadership won’t decide how “AAP is seen in Punjab”.

The party needs to streamline its organisational set-up in Punjab with an eye on the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the AAP’s state affairs incharge said.

Talking to The Tribune, Sisodia said he was meeting MLAs from Punjab on a one-on-one basis to know about the issues they wanted to be raised. He added that the party was yet to finalise its assessment of the reasons that led to its loss in the Assembly polls last year.

“The Congress and the Akali Dal clearly contested a friendly match,” he said, adding that he would visit Punjab later this month.

Sisodia, who visited the Dyal Singh Library and The Tribune editorial office here this evening, lauded the newspaper for the Aadhaar data leak expose. “I salute The Tribune and its correspondent for doing a wonderful job. They brought to light the inadequacies of the security system,” he added.

On the controversy over the Delhi Lieutenant Governor disallowing some works of the Arvind Kejriwal government, Sisodia said, “The LG is not aware of what is happening on the ground.”
