Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh today cautioned the community against anti-Sikh elements and advised them to have faith in the highest temporal seat.
He was addressing the public on the occasion of the foundation day of Akal Takht. The Jathedar also expressed his concern at the drug menace and female foeticide.
During the occasion, the bhog of an Akhand Path and gurbani kirtan was performed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
Appealing the Sikh community to be united, the Jathedar gave an advisory note to shun touts of some agencies operating in India and abroad who have been propagating negatively against the sanctity of this highest temporal seat.
An ardas was performed by Rajdeep Singh. The dhadi jathas apprised the devotees about Sikh history and culture.
Those present on the occasion included SGPC chief secretary Harcharan Singh, secretary Roop Singh, additional secretary Diljit Singh Bedi and Ranjit Singh.
