In the wake of the attack on Sikh preacher Dhadrianwale, Punjab BJP president and Union minister Vijay Sampla said nobody would be allowed to create anarchy in the state.

Sampla was talking to mediapersons — before starting for Delhi last night — regarding the “open backing of assailants and threats by radical Sikh groups”.

Without naming anyone or any organisation, Sampla said, “Nobody is above the law. Nobody will be allowed to vitiate the hard-earned peace in Punjab. Nobody will be allowed to create anarchy.”

The minister had visited Gurdwara Parmeshwar Dwar Sahib near Patiala to inquire about the health of its head Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale after he survived a murderous assault allegedly by men from Damdami Taksal last week.

Sampla, who also visited ailing former minister Swarana Ram to enquire about his health, described Ram as his political guru.

On possible change of few seats between the SAD and the BJP, he described it as a minor issue between the alliance partners.
