Arrested ISIS suspect was living in Jalandhar for 3 years

JALANDHAR: An ISIS suspect was arrested from Sant Nagar locality that falls under Police Station Division No 5 by the Anti-Terrorist Squad and Delhi Police with the support of Jalandhar Police.

Jalandhar, April 20

An ISIS suspect was arrested from Sant Nagar locality that falls under Police Station Division No 5 by the Anti-Terrorist Squad and Delhi Police with the support of Jalandhar Police.

The suspect, 22, had been staying in Jalandhar for the past three years and was known by the names Mazamil Khan and Gazi Baba.

A tailor by profession, he came here with his father from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. His father lives in Bholath area.  

Confirming his arrest from Jalandhar, Police Commissioner PK Sinha said the Jalandhar police supported the team of ATS and Delhi Police to arrest the suspect.

The Commissioner said the youth was active on internet to radicalise youth. He was in touch with the other suspects, who have been arrested from other parts of the country.
