Badal: Border farmers allowed to harvest crop

PATHANKOT:Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today visited Barth Sahib Gurdwara, which is providing shelter to those evacuated from Punjab’s border villages and, expressing solidarity with the farmers, said they would be allowed to harvest their crop.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today visited Barth Sahib Gurdwara, which is providing shelter to those  evacuated from Punjab’s border villages and, expressing solidarity with the farmers, said they would be allowed to harvest their crop. 

“I took up the matter with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He held deliberations with BSF officers after which orders were issued to allow farmers across the fence to harvest their crop,” he said.

The CM, on a whirlwind tour of Pathankot and Gurdaspur relief camps, spoke with the farmers and heard  their grievances. He lauded the DCs, besides officials, for the quick response. — TNS
