Badal to unfurl flag in Mohali, Sukhbir in Jalandhar

Chandigarh, January 25

Tight security has been put in place across Punjab and the state capital Chandigarh in view of Republic Day functions tomorrow.

Officials said here today that additional forces had been deployed at vulnerable places and key installations, including parade grounds where functions will be held, apart from important bus stands, railway stations and government buildings.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would unfurl the national flag in Mohali while his deputy Sukhbir Badal would preside over a function at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar.

Services of dog and bomb -disposal squads were being taken to sanitise vulnerable places across the state, officials said. Vehicles entering various towns were being checked and hotels were also put under observation, they said.
