Alleging political vendetta, BJP SC Morcha secretary Ranjha Ram, who was booked under Section 420 of the IPC on July 14, has approached the State SC Commission for justice.

Ram has accused the Moonak and Khanauri police of harassing him at the behest of local Congress leaders.

On July 14, the police registered a case against him on the complaint of Swarn Singh, who alleged that the BJP leader duped him of Rs 50,000 on the pretext of getting his son Kulwinder recruited in the police.

“A false fraud case was registered against me. Around a year ago, I got an encroachment removed from 14 acres of panchayat land from Shahpur Kheri village. Since then, some affected persons have been trying to implicate me,” alleged Ram, who has been absconding and has applied for bail. A court has fixed July 27 as the next date of hearing.

“The SC Commission has summoned Moonak DSP on August 10,” Ram said.

Khanauri SHO Sukhchain Singh denied the allegation and said the case was registered after a thorough investigation by the CIA, Bahadur Singhwala. “I have not been summoned by the commission. We will produce the required record after receiving the summons,” said DSP Ajay Pal Singh.
