3 get life term for murder

 

Three residents of Abohar villages have been awarded life sentence for kidnapping a tractor driver, killing him and decamping with his vehicle in Sriganganagar. Those awarded life term are Suraj Pal of Bhangarkhera, Brij Lal of Achadiki and Sudhir Kumar of Kular village. The case was registered on March 22, 2012. They had kidnapped Surjit Singh, who was transporting bricks from a kiln, killed him and sold his tractor to Baljinder Singh, who has been awarded one-year jail.

Rape convicts get 20-yr jail  

A local court has sentenced two persons to 21-year imprisonment each for the kidnapping and rape of a minor girl. A case had been registered against Mohar Kumar and Sunil Kumar of Shergarh village for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl last year. Both accused were nabbed and the girl was recovered later from Rajpura village. Later, the police added Section 376 to the case.

Two injured in firing

Two persons were injured in a firing incident in Brahampura village, 30 km from Tarn Taran. The reason is said to be a property dispute between two groups of the village. The injured are Lovjeet Singh and Pargat Singh. Harjit Singh and his brother Nirmal Singh of Tarn Taran were among the 17 booked.
