Bus catches fire, passengers safe

Abohar: A private bus caught fire on the outskirts of the town on Thursday afternoon. All the 40 passengers on board escaped unhurt. The bus, owned by the Zamindara Transport Company, was on its way to Sriganganagar. Near the city bypass, flames emanated from its engine, perhaps due to short circuit in its wiring system. Driver Sohan Lal tried to douse the flames by using water and a cloth. He sustained burn injuries. Passengers rushed out and escaped unhurt. Fire tenders took more than 40 minutes to control the fire. OC
