Ludhiana, November 21

The court of Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh today adjourned the hearing in the alleged Rs 1,144-crore city centre scam till December 8.

The court adjourned the case as several accused were yet to file reply to application moved by one witness Sunil Kumar Day, an architect from New Delhi, for making him a party in the case. He intends to oppose the closure report filed by the Vigilance Bureau.

Earlier, MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains had moved an application for making him party in the case. The said application is also pending for disposal.

On August 19, the bureau had filed a closure report. The VB had claimed that nothing wrong was done and the loss to the state exchequer worth crores was “imaginary”.
