Amritsar, February 24

Over 520 members of the Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) are likely to choose their next office-bearers, including, president, through ballot papers. The last election through ballot papers was held about 24 years ago.

The decision will be endorsed in the CKD's executive meeting to be held on February 26. The elections are scheduled for March 4.

Meanwhile, campaigning has intensified with all three contesting groups reaching out to members.

Some members complained to Akal Takht that former president Charanjit Singh Chadha was still interfering in the election process. They alleged that he had rung up several members, besides sending SMSes. — TNS
