CM in Delhi, to meet Rahul today

New Delhi: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh arrived here on Wednesday and met Congress Punjab affairs incharge Asha Kumari before a crucial meeting with party chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunil Jakhar was also present in the meeting with Asha Kumari. It is learnt that Rahul will take a final call on Rana Gurjit’s resignation tomorrow and the state Chief Minister and organisational incharge will present to him a report on a year of the Congress in Punjab. Rana Gurjit resigned on Monday after indications from Congress leadership that he might be otherwise sacked following allegations of corruption in the sand mining row. “It will be a stocktaking meeting on what all we have done and what all we plan to do,” a source said, adding that Rana Gurjit’s resignation was bound to come up for discussion and decision. A discussion on impending Cabinet expansion may also take place at the meeting, the source said. tns
