CM shielding mining mafia, alleges Khaira

CHANDIGARH: Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Saturday accused Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of shielding fellow Congress leaders who were allegedly involved in illegal mining.

Chandigarh, June 23

Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Saturday accused Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of shielding fellow Congress leaders who were allegedly involved in illegal mining.

Khaira said Capt Amarinder was following in the footsteps of the then SAD-BJP government, which had promoted the mining mafia as their leaders then had major stakes in the illegal trade.

Referring to the recent attack on AAP MLA Amarjit Sandoa, Khaira resented that the Ropar district administration had termed unauthorised mining as legal.

He also condemned the cancellation of an FIR against Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowalia. — TNS
