Cops at door, man consumes poison

Satnam Singh, a resident of Mahindipur village, 45 km from here, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance when a police team raided his residence today.

Satnam Singh was rushed to hospital in Bhikhiwind where his condition was stated to be stable. Sources said the police team headed by ASI Paramdeep Singh raided the residence of Satnam Singh. When the cops told him to sit with them in the police vehicle in connection with some investigation, he went inside and allegedly consumed some poisonous substance.

Bhikhiwind DSP Gurcharan Singh said Satnam Singh was already facing cases under the NDPS Act and the police went to his house to question him in another such case. — OC
