EC for curb on drugs

Chandigarh, January 11

The Election Commission (EC) wants all law-enforcement agencies, especially the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Punjab Police’s State Narcotics Control Bureau (SNCB), to curb the use of drugs, if any, in the state ahead of elections.

In today’s meeting with nodal officers of the NCB, SNCB, and departments of Income Tax and Excise and Taxation, the full panel of commission led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasim Zaidi focussed on the apprehension of misuse of drugs. — TNS
