New Delhi: Farmers from Punjab will hold a demonstration here on Thursday to press for their demands, including debt waiver.



New Delhi: Farmers from Punjab will hold a demonstration here on Thursday to press for their demands, including debt waiver. The protest will be held under the aegis of Bharti Kissan Union Ekta (Dakaunda), Azad Kisan Sangharash Committee and Krantikari Kisan Union. The agitators will march from Bangla Sahib gurdwara and gather in front of Parliament. A charter of demands will be handed over to PM Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh. The farmers are demanding an immediate stop on the import of foodgrain, especially wheat, which was being sufficiently produced by them, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations and farm debt waiver.
