Independent legislator Simarjit Singh Bains today said he was all ready to float a political party. Talking to The Tribune, he claimed: “It will be a regional (political) party with its own symbol. We are already working in that direction. In less than a week, we’ll make the announcement.”

Bains, president of NGO Team Insaaf, had announced last year also that he would float a political party.

Bains’ announcement comes after a series of speculations that Bains, along with Team Insaaf, will join hands with either the Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Bains said that a pre-poll alliance with like-minded political parties was very much possible. Refusing to elaborate, he said the nitty-gritty would be worked out later.
