A baby girl was found abandoned in a 20-ft well at Khotrran village on the first day of the Navratri today.
Some Passersby heard the cries of the infant and informed the police who with the help of villagers rescued the infant and admitted her to a hospital. The critically injured infant was later sent to the Jalandhar Hospital.
Harvinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Banga, said a case had been registered under Section 317 of the IPC against unknown persons.
