Abohar, October 27
Describing the recent police recruitment by the state government — the result of which was declared last night — a crude and cruel joke on the unemployed youth, the Congress has demanded refund of the application fee taken from the job aspirants.
Party spokesman Sunil Jakhar today said, “It is a classic case of ponzi scheme — Taking money from a large number of job aspirants and then distributing it among the few selected. The recruitment process has not only disappointed but also robbed about six lakh youth of the state who had applied for jobs.” He said that the state government had charged Rs 500 each from about six lakh job aspirants making crores of rupees in the process. Of them, only 7,000 have been provided jobs, much against the claims of the Deputy CM last year that the government would provide 1.23 lakh jobs. — OC
