Amritsar, May 29

After directions from SAD president and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, the SGPC has convened its executive meeting here on May 31 to discuss measures to resolve the discord between Damdami Taksal chief Harnam Singh Dhumma and Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale.

Harnam Singh Dhumma said he was ready to bury the hatchet with Dhadrianwale provided he issued a public apology for his words denigrating the head of centuries-old Sikh religious institution Damdami Taksal.

He said that the Taksal has been maintaining restraint against the utterances of Dhadrianwale for the past four years. Earlier, Akal Takht had offered to resolve the issue amicably. — TNS
