A day after the visit of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to the city, Congress’ national spokespersons Jaiveer Shergill and Charan Singh Sapra today countered his claims of all-round development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule.
Addressing the media here today, they alleged that the SAD-BJP government was pushing the state to the brink of terrorism.
Shergill said the law and order situation was deteriorating, adding that the government was involved in the Rs 12,000-crore foodgrain scam.
The state farmers were under a debt of Rs 6,900 crore, he said. Shergill urged the Centre to waive the farmers’ loans as had been done in the case of industrialists.
The NDA government promised two crore jobs but only 1.34 lakh have been given. In Punjab, 75 lakh youth are unemployed and 25,000 factories have closed down in two years, he claimed.
They released a booklet on the completion of two years of the Modi government titled ‘Do Saal, Desh ka Bura Haal.’
