11 youths held, two gangs of chain-snatchers busted

With the arrest of 11 youths, the Faridkot police today claimed to have nabbed two gangs of chain-snatchers, vehicle lifters and those involved in theft and burglary cases in the area.

Most of these arrested youths are already facing many criminal cases, said DS Mann, SSP, Faridkot.

They are already facing as many as 13 criminal cases. The police investigation and questioning of these arrested youths revealed that they continued to commit crime after their release on bail in the earlier cases. The youths also confessed to perpetrating various crimes.

The suspects have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, Sarbjit Singh, Ravi Kumar, Dalwinder Singh, Ajay Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Lovepreet Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Jashan Deep Singh, Shubaman Beg and Ramesh Kumar.

The police have seized two pistols, many live cartridges and some blunt and sharp-edged weapons from the youths.
