Alcoholic strangles father to death

Sangrur: An alcoholic, Bhagwan Singh, allegedly killed his father Karnail Singh by strangling him at Gurne Kalan village on Monday. The cremation was done immediately to hide the crime. The deceased was a retired railway department employee. The accused used to beat him up many a time whenever he was refused money to purchase liquor. ASI Harmet Singh, incharge of Chotiyan police post, said the police had registered a murder case against the accused and arrested him. TNS
