Patwari caught taking bribe

The Nawanshahr unit of the Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday caught a patwari of Jadla village in Balachaur tehsil for allegedly taking Rs 8,000 bribe from a Ludhiana-based resident.



Jalandhar: The Nawanshahr Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday caught a patwari of Jadla village in Balachaur tehsil for allegedly taking Rs 8,000 bribe from a Ludhiana resident. Inspector Dalbir Singh caught patwari Vinod Kumar while taking money from Gurdeep Singh of Ludhiana. The complainant said he had submitted an application for intkal of the land in the name of his unmarried, deceased brother Hardeep Singh in favour of his sister Kuldeep Kaur of Ludhiana. He said the patwari sought Rs 10,000 for the work, but finally settled at Rs 8,000. TNS
