Schoolgirl raped, three booked

TARN TARAN: A teenaged girl was allegedly raped here today.

A teenaged girl was allegedly raped here today. Three motorcycle-borne persons intercepted the 14-year-old girl, who was on the way to school on a bicycle, and allegedly took her to a secluded place after covering her head with a cloth.

One of the accused has been identified as Dilraj Singh of Kairowal village, whereas two of his associates are yet to be identified. The accused are still absconding.

The three accused have been booked.

The victim was medically examined at the local Civil Hospital where the report has confirmed rape, but her statement was yet to be recorded before the court of the Judicial Magistrate.

Ferozepur: Six youths involved in a murder case were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court on Thursday. On April 13, 2013, Gursewak Singh, Prem Singh, Heera Singh and Manjinder Singh, Amandeep Singh and Dildeep Singh had an argument with Rajinder Singh (45). They attacked Rajinder Singh (45) with sharp-edged weapons.
