Dhindsa alleges Congress leader has relations with gangster Ravi Deol

Former Union Minister and Secretary General of SAD Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Sunday accused Congress leader Rahul Inder Sidhu of having relations with gangster Ravi Deol, who is currently in police remand.

Dhindsa, who is the father of former Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Dhindsa, has accused Rahul Inder Sidhu and another Congress leader of having relations with the gangster.

Sidhu is the son of former Punjab CM Bibi Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.

Dhindsa today alleged that since Bibi was preparing for parliamentary elections from Sangrur, her son got Deol surrendered.

He alleged that Deol has levelled false allegations against his former OSD Amanveer Cherry to tarnish the image of the Dhindsa family as Cherry is their relative and he himself is preparing for parliamentary elections from Sangrur seat.

“If anyone wants to contest against me, he or she can contest but should not level such baseless allegations,” said Dhindsa

Dhindsa also alleged that Sangrur police was working on the directions of Congress leaders, who are meeting Deol in police custody and asking him to level allegations against Cherry.

“I will meet senior authorities of Punjab Government and the Centre for high level inquiry or CBI probe of the matter,” said Dhindsa.

Meanwhile, Rahul Inder Sidhu has denied the allegations.

 “I have no role in the surrender of Deol. Dhindsa is levelling baseless allegations,” he said.

Gangster Ravi Deol, wanted in 12 cases and who surrendered in a Sangrur court on January 30, was produced in court on Saturday after the end of his police remand.

The court again sent him in police remand till February 11. Deol accused an OSD of former union minister of SAD and his friend of pushing him into the world of crime and demanded action against both.

“Amanveer Singh Cherry, OSD to former Union Minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, along with his close friend Manu, who works with education department, made me a gangster. They are real gangsters. They used me as their muscleman in their illegal acts. When I refused, they threatened me with dire consequences as both are very influential in Sangrur due to their proximity with senior SAD leaders,” Deol had said while coming out of court.

Cherry and Manu have also denied the allegations.
