Dr Ajay Sharma appointed V-C of Punjab Technical University

Dr Ajay Sharma has been appointed vice chancellor of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

He is director of National Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Sharma received his BE in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1986, MS in Electronics and Control from Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani, in 1994 and PhD in Electronics Communication and Computer Engineering in 1999.

After serving various organisations from 1986 to 1995, he joined National Institute of Technology (erstwhile Regional Engineering College) Jalandhar as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1996. From November 2001, he worked as Professor in the ECE department and thereafter he worked as Professor in Computer Science and Engineering from 2007 to 2013 in the same institute.
