Muktsar: Activists of the Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union on Thursday burnt the effigies of CM Capt Amarinder Singh in some villages here. They criticised the state government saying that it arrested a large number of farmers to thwart their five-day protest scheduled to be held in Patiala. The farm labourers took out rallies at Buttiwala and Khunde Halal villages. They said it was undemocratic to stop public from expressing its grievances. tns
