Former Hoshiarpur MP Channi joins AAP

CHANDIGARH: Former MP Charanjit Singh Channi joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday. Son of 7-time MLS and minister Dilbagh Singh, Channi resigned from the Congress in June 2016.

Former MP Charanjit Singh Channi joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday.

Son of  7-time MLS and minister Dilbagh Singh, Channi resigned from the Congress in June 2016.

Channi was elected to Parliament from Hoshiarpur in the General Elections of 1999. He was elected an independent MLA from Nawanshahr Assembly segment in 1997.

"Everybody is welcome to help AAP rescue Punjab from Akalis and Congress," AAP leader Himmat Shergill — who accompanied Channi, said when whether AAP was willing to accept support from Navjot Singh Sidhu’s political front.
