Guv accepts resignations of VCs of GNDU, Punjabi varsity

CHANDIGARH: Governor VP Singh Badnore on Wednesday accepted the resignations of Vice Chancellors of Punjabi University and Guru Nanak Dev University.

Governor VP Singh Badnore on Wednesday accepted the resignations of Vice Chancellors of Punjabi University and Guru Nanak Dev University.

Higher Education Secretary Anurag Aggarwal has been given the interim charge as the process to set up a search committee to look for new names has begun.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Wednesday posted AS Rai as IGP, Patiala zone, besides being the IGP, Vigilance Bureau.

Three IGPs have been attached to the STF headed by Harpreet Singh Sidhu. They are Pramod ban, Balkar Singh Sidhu and B Chandrashekhar.

The government also appointed Dr Vijay Harjai as senior consultant on contractual basis in the VVIP medical team of the Chief Minister.

A government spokesperson said Dr Harjai would be the in charge of the VVIP medical team of the Chief Minister and coordinate its overall functioning.

The Health and Family Welfare department has also allowed Dr Harjai to carry out private practice and work as consultant in other private hospitals and health institutes.
