Abohar, May 22

Three armed persons, who forced entry into a gym at gunpoint, allegedly shot Vinod Sheoran (36), who was infamous as Jordon, in Sriganganagar on Tuesday.

Of 15 bullets fired by them, five hit Jordon, who died on the spot. Trainer Sajid, who was present at the time of incident, informed the police through gym owner Joginder Bajaj.

SP Harinder Mahawer and ASP Surinder Singh Rathore inspected the gym. Jordon was reportedly involved in several crimes.

Preliminary investigation based on CCTV footage indicated that five persons came in Swift Dzire. Three of them carrying pistols forced entry into the gym. Two walked into the room in which Jordon was exercising and killed him.

Messages were flashed to strengthen nakas on the interstate border, including Gumjal, Rajpura and Seetogunno in the Abohar subdivision. Fazilka SSP Dr Ketan Baliram Patil told police officials to visit all local hotels and collect IDs of the guests who checked in on Monday.

The police suspect the involvement of Sappu Gang led by Ankit Bhadoo of Abohar. He was reportedly associated with Panjab University Students’ Union former president and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In the FIR registered on the statement of Jordon’s uncle Dharampal Sheoran, a councillor, Bishnoi, Bhadoo and notorious gangster Sampat Nehra of Haryana have been named as suspects.

Bhadoo is wanted for killing jeweller Pankaj Soni, nephew of inspector Bhupinder Soni, on December 6.
