Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said here today that the 'tug of war' in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had exposed its state leadership's lust for power.

Interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of a Sangat Darshan programme for 53 villages falling under Baba Bakala Assembly segment, the CM said the 'sale' of the party ticket was a shameful activity that did not behove any political party or leader.

Badal said AAP was following the Congress' anti-Punjab stance. He said the hostile stand taken by the AAP government on the SYL issue in the Supreme Court showed that the party had no sympathy for Punjab or its people. "They are merely here to plunder the state. Don't expect anything good from them," he added.

He accused state Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh of making false promises to the farmers on debt waiver. "Capt knows very well that state governments can hardly do anything regarding these debts," Badal said.

Terming the SAD-BJP alliance as the only pro-farmer government in the country, the CM said free power worth Rs 5,000 crore was being provided to the farmers every year. He said the state government had decided to extend an interest-free crop loan of Rs 50,000 each to the farmers.

He said the alliance partners were yet to hold a meeting on seat sharing.
