Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Sunil Jakhar flayed SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal for his remark where he reportedly said that the Jalalabad Assembly seat was his “property”. Jakhar said only the voters had the power to elect their representative.

He said this was not the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee election where “the Badal family has its complete say”. Jakhar claimed that Congress candidate Raminder Singh Awla would win the bypoll with a huge margin. He said during the last two-and-a-half years, the Congress-led government in Punjab had implemented schemes for each and every section of society. — OC
