AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal washed utensils at the Golden Temple early this morning as atonement for the party’s manifesto gaffe.
AAP spokesperson Ashish Khetan, who was recently booked for hurting religious sentiments for allegedly equating the youth manifesto with Guru Granth Sahib and other holy books, also performed ‘sewa’ with him.
Amid tight security, Kejriwal arrived around 3.40 am at the shrine. He and the other party leaders went to Sri Guru Ramdas Langar Hall, where they cleaned utensils. Later, they paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum and attended ‘ardas’. They left around 5.30 am for New Delhi.
Kejriwal said, “We committed some mistakes unintentionally while releasing our youth manifesto. To seek forgiveness, we did ‘sewa’ at Darbar Sahib.” Among the party leaders present were Bhagwant Mann, Sanjay Singh, SS Chhotepur, HS Phoolka and Kanwar Sandhu.
