State AAP convener Bhagwant Mann today hit out at SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal for holding a dharna on a Harike brige recently.

“When AAP leaders sat on dharnas during the SAD-BJP’s rule, the Akalis termed them idle. Now, what should be said about Sukhbir?” he said while campaigning for party candidates contesting the civic body elections.

He was accompanied by state AAP co-convener Aman Arora.

“The nominations of even AAP candidates were rejected. What did we do? We simply complained to the Election Commission. But the SAD inconvenienced thousands of people by holding a dharna on the Harike bridge,” Mann said.

The two AAP leaders addressed rallies in various parts of the city, including Bhargo Camp, Phullanwala Bazar in Gopal Nagar, Mithu Basti Road, Adarsh Nagar and Basti Peer Daad Road.

Before them, no other prominent leader of any of the three mainline parties campaigned for the MC elections.

At one of the rallies, Mann flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for trying to fan communal tension ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections by accusing former PM Manmohan Singh of conspiring with Pakistan to defeat the BJP.

“The BJP had made similar remarks ahead of the Bihar elections,” he said.

Mann dared Modi to take action against Manmohan Singh if he had evidence to back his claim.
