Four people, including a woman, were killed and another woman was seriously injured in an accident that occurred in the wee hours of Sunday. The mishap occurred when a car went out of control and collided with a roadside tree outside the town of Mahilpur on the Chandigarh-Hoshiarpur road. Due to the impact, the car broke into four pieces.

According to the information, Jewellers Union Mahilpur president Kamal Kishore (48), his wife Monica, brother-in-law Amit Kumar (44), his wife Pooja (42), and Amit’s cousin Gaurav Bagga (38) had gone to have dinner at a restaurant near Chabbewal. Some of their family members were in a second car.

On their return, Kamal Kishore’s car went out of control near a petrol pump and rammed into a roadside tree. As a result, the passengers were stuck in the car. Their family members in the second car pulled them out with a lot of effort.
