More names in full audio clip: Khaira

Leader of Opposition Sukhpa Khaira today claimed that the names of an IAS officer and three advocates figure in the audio tape, a part of which was released a few days ago.

Addressing a press conference here, Khaira claimed that the 99-minute-long audio clip of “conversation between dismissed PCS officer TK Goel and former Deputy Advocate General Amit Chaudhary is just a tip of the iceberg”. He alleged that Goel had told him that the name of a senior IAS officer also figured in the conversation who was allegedly operating like Chaudhary.

Though Khaira refused to reveal the name, he said Goel was open to join any investigation marked by the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Ludhiana MLA Simrajit Bains had released a 17-minute recording in which Chaudhary purportedly tells Goel that Rs 35 lakh had been paid to a judge to ensure that Khaira’s review petition in the high court, seeking the charges against him be quashed, was dismissed.

Khaira said he had remorse for the abusive language he used against Capt Amarinder Singh and his government. He said he withdrew the words.

Kejriwal has faith in me: AAP leader

Chandigarh: Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Saturday said he had “full support” of AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The AAP leader trashed reports that Kejriwal had not spoken in his support after he was summoned by the court and said he was in constant touch with the Delhi CM and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. “In fact there were many things which they suggested like this is the way things should move legally... filing of Special Leave Petition,” he said.
