Now, online admissions in govt colleges

CHANDIGARH: To streamline the higher education system in the state, all government colleges will adopt the online admission system from the next academic session.



Chandigarh, June 20

To streamline the higher education system in the state, all government colleges will adopt the online admission system from the next academic session.

Each college will be required to submit a monthly progress report of its academic and other activities. The decisions were taken during a meeting of the government college principals under the chairmanship of Minister for Higher Education Razia Sultana.

Various issues related to raising the standard of higher education were discussed at the meeting. It was decided to have appraisal of the academic activities and action plan for next year, online admissions, ensuring maximum attendance of students, faculty development, status of NAAC accreditation, introduction of academic audit, subject combination in undergraduate courses, besides holding motivational lecture series by eminent personalities and improving status of libraries. — TNS
