Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday visited Mudhal village in Amritsar as part of the BJP’s national programme, which aims to restore the faith of the Dalits.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the BJP MPs and ministers to spend at least two nights in a village that has 50 per cent Dalit population.
Puri will stay for the night at the house of a Dalit, Balwinder Singh, before leaving with his observation report on Friday.
He also visited village gurdwara and grain market and interacted with residents. TNS
