The Punjab Police on Saturday put under arrest one person following his surrender on Friday in the case of rape of a 22-year-old Dalit girl on March 25 at Kandukhera village.

The suspect, Jagdeep Singh 'Jojo', of Kandukhera village was sent to a three-day police remand.
Malout DSP Manwinderbir Singh said the accused has also named Sandeep Singh of Tappa Khera in the case.
The DSP said: “We are conducting raids to arrest him.”
The arrest was made after a month despite having a video footage of a youth dragging the victim in a broad daylight.
The area falls in Lambi. The fear-struck victim has left her house and is now staying at her relative’s house in Muktsar town.
According to the FIR, the girl, who worked at a computer centre at Malout, was forcibly abducted from outside the institute on the Indira road. She was allegedly taken to a house at Tappa Khera village, where they allegedly sexually assaulted her. Later, they dropped her at Malout.
