Moga, December 11
Two witnesses of the prosecution have turned “hostile” in the infamous Orbit bus molestation case as the recording of statements of the witnesses began in the court of Additional District and Sessions’ Judge Gurjant Singh at Moga today.
Jagtar Singh Rode and his wife Amarjit Kaur Rode, who had claimed that they were sitting in the bus when the incident of molestation and murder of the minor Dalit girl took place, today said in the court that they were sitting in the third row in the bus; therefore, they did not know what happened in the rear.
Deceased girl’s father Sukhdev Singh also recorded his statement in the court today. He said he was not present in the bus at the time of the incident. He was informed about it by his wife. He said his daughter was first molested and then thrown off the moving bus by the conductor and other staff, as informed by his wife.
The court has now fixed January 15 as the next date of hearing. The recording of the statements of witnesses will continue on that day.
