Patiala: Four of family drown as SUV falls into Bhakra canal

Patiala, April 6

Four members of a family on Saturday drowned after their Ford Endeavour fell into the Bhakra canal here around noon.

The police have identified the victims as Paramveer Singh (42), his wife Deepshikha, daughter Liza Granz (7) and son Sushant (4). 

Both the kids were studying in DAV school in Patiala.

Police said that they have recovered two bodies from the spot, while the search for others was under way.

Eyewitnesses said that the car was driven at a high speed and fell into the canal.

Police said that they are yet to reach any conclusion on the possible cause of the accident.

The victim, Paramveer, was the owner of a consultancy immigration firm.
