Patwari held for graft

Chandigarh: A patwari in the Irrigation Department, Mohandeep Singh, was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 at Kokhar Kalan village in Mansa district.



he trap was laid by the VB on a complaint by Kaka Singh, alleging the patwari had sought Rs 2,000 for enhancing the supply of water for irrigation to his fields. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered. TNS
