Muktsar, January 16

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today termed the contest on the Lambi seat as “vikas versus vinash”, calling both his rivals PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh and AAP’s Jarnail Singh as “bahari hamlawar”.

Badal, who began his three-day election campaign after a gap of four days, claimed that the people of Lambi were wise enough and the security deposit of Amarinder would be forfeited. “The history will repeat itself. Harsimrat had defeated Amarinder’s son Raninder Singh in the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 by 1.5 lakh votes. Now, I will defeat Amarinder. The people of Lambi will defeat him,” he said.

“We want peace, communal harmony and development, but the other two parties have an opposite record. The Congress is responsible for the attack on the Golden Temple and anti-Sikh riots in 1984. AAP is aligned with those forces that ruined the state in the past.”

At Roranwali village, the CM said:“When Amarinder comes to seek votes, ask him about the SYL canal and show him the Rajasthan Feeder canal that takes water to Rajasthan.”
